This is a demonstration website. Ochil Ledger is a fictional accountancy practice created by Tempany Web Studios. Nothing you type into it is sent, stored or emailed anywhere: the enquiry form runs entirely inside your own browser and the page forgets it the moment you close the tab. The policy below is written the way a real practice’s would be, so a client can see exactly what they would get.

Who we are

Ochil Ledger Accountancy, 14 Mill Brae, Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire FK13 6AA. For anything to do with your personal information, email [email protected] or phone 01632 960 331. On a live site the practice owner is the data controller, and an accountancy practice would also be registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

What we collect, and when

Only what we need to answer you, quote you, and then do the work.

When you send an enquiry

Please do not send bank details, your Unique Taxpayer Reference, your National Insurance number or anything about your health through a website form. If any of that matters, we ask for it once you are a client, through a channel built for it.

Once you are a client

Everything the work needs and nothing it does not: your income and expenditure records, your tax references, the HMRC authorisations, payroll data if we run your payroll, and the identity documents that money laundering rules require us to hold.

Automatically

Our host keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. They keep the site running and secure, and the host deletes them on a rolling basis.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We do not sell your details, we do not share them with advertisers, and we will not add you to a mailing list because you asked what we charge. If we ever start one, you will have to ask to be on it.

How long we keep it

Who else sees it

The people in this office, and nobody else without a reason. On a live site the suppliers who make the work possible would also process it on our behalf: HMRC and Companies House when we file for you, the bookkeeping software you use (Xero or FreeAgent), the site host and the email provider, each under a contract that only lets them use it to provide that service. In this demonstration there are none, because nothing leaves your browser.

Cookies and what this page stores

A cookie is a small file a website keeps in your browser. This page uses none at all. It keeps three small values in your browser’s own storage, which never leave your device and are never sent to us.

Everything this page stores
WhatWhyHow long
ol-themeRemembers whether you had the lights up or down, so the page does not fight you on the next visit. A functional preference, which does not need your consent under PECR.Until you clear this site’s data
ol-consentRemembers which button you pressed, so the bar stops asking.Until you clear this site’s data
ol-picksRemembers which plan and add-ons you ticked in the fee chapter, so a reload does not lose the total you built. Stored for the tab only.Until you close the tab
AnalyticsOn a live site, counts page views so the practice knows which pages people read. Loaded only if you press Accept. This demonstration loads none at all.Not set here

There is no advertising cookie, no tracking pixel and no social widget anywhere on this site. Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting, the two buttons are identical, and rejecting changes nothing about how the page works for you.

You can change your mind from the cookie bar at any time, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us using it. Email [email protected] and we deal with it inside a month. It is free. Where a record is one the law requires an accountant to keep, we will say so and explain how long it has left to run.

If you are not happy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If we change how we use your information we update this page and change the date at the top.
