What this website is, and is not

The figure on the front page is a sample. Tapping a region shows you where we would usually start with that part of the body, how many appointments that sort of problem usually takes, and what the first appointment costs. It is drawn from our own treatment lists, not from anything about you, and it is not a diagnosis, an opinion or a treatment plan. Only an assessment in the room can give you those.

Nothing on this site is a substitute for urgent medical care. If you have had a serious injury, sudden loss of power or feeling, chest pain or you feel unwell, phone NHS 24 on 111 or attend A&E. In an emergency phone 999.

Booking

Sending the form is an enquiry, not a booking. We reply within one working day with two or three times that fit, and the appointment exists once you confirm one. If you have not heard from us by the end of the next working day, phone the clinic rather than assume you are in the diary.

You do not need a GP referral. Physiotherapy in Scotland is a direct-access profession. No deposit is taken to book.

Cancellations and missed appointments

Twenty-four hours’ notice, please. Under that we charge half the appointment fee, because the slot usually cannot be filled at short notice. Illness and genuine emergencies are always waived, and you only have to tell us.

If we have to cancel on you, which happens rarely, you are offered the next available appointment and there is no charge for the one that was lost.

Fees and payment

Fees are the ones published on the clinic page and are per appointment. Card, cash or bank transfer at the end of the appointment. Needling, taping and your written programme are included in the fee rather than charged separately.

A block of four follow-ups is £165, a saving of £15, valid for six months from purchase, and it is only offered when we genuinely think you need four. Unused appointments in a block are refundable, less the full price of any appointments already taken.

We are not currently a registered provider with the private health insurers. You pay us at the appointment and we issue a full itemised invoice with our registration details so you can claim it back yourself. Whether your policy accepts it is between you and your insurer, so it is worth ringing them first.

Concessions of £6 off follow-up appointments are available to students, over-65s and anyone on Universal Credit. Tell us when you book rather than at the till.

Your appointment

You will be assessed and treated by an HCPC-registered physiotherapist or, for sports massage and gym-based rehabilitation, by our sports therapist. Treatment happens only with your informed consent: we explain what we propose to do and why before we do it, and you can stop anything at any point without giving a reason and without it affecting your care.

You are welcome to bring a friend, partner or chaperone into the room. Tell us when you book so we can make space for them.

We see young people from twelve upwards for sports injuries, accompanied by a parent or guardian for the whole appointment. For younger children we will point you to the NHS paediatric physiotherapy service, which is better set up for it.

Please arrive five minutes early and tell us about any medication, recent scans, or changes in your health. If you arrive late, we treat you in the time that is left rather than running into the next patient’s appointment.

What we expect from each other

You will get an honest estimate of how many appointments you are likely to need, including when the answer is none. In return we ask that you tell us if the exercises are not happening, because a programme nobody is doing is worth changing rather than repeating.

We do not sell treatment plans in blocks of ten, and we will tell you when physiotherapy is not the right answer and who is.

Regulation and complaints

Our physiotherapists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. The clinic holds professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

If something goes wrong, tell us first: phone or email the clinic and we will reply within five working days. If we cannot put it right between us, you can contact the HCPC, or the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, and we will give you the details for both.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Beyond that, our liability in connection with an appointment is limited to the fee paid for it.

Physiotherapy can leave you a little achy for a day or so; that is normal and is not an injury. Exercise programmes are given on the understanding that you carry them out as described and stop if something hurts in a way that feels wrong.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
